HARDWARE UPGRADES
 

The quickest, easiest, and most effective way to improve the performance of an aging computer is to increase the size of the RAM memory, (if possible), and/or replace the existing mechanical hard drive (HDD) with a solid-state drive (SSD). SSDs are much more reliable too, as they don't have any moving parts like the platters in a mechanical hard drive.
